The magic of Christmas doesn't have to last for just one day. Lots of parents like to give a token gift on the 24th (many European countries do all their gift giving on the 24th) and there's now a growing trend for Christmas Eve boxes. We're not saying you need to - the puritan in me thinks my kids get more than enough at this time of year! - but it you are considering some extra treats to warm them up for the big day, look no further.

Christmas Eve, we adults are usually prepping the veggies and wrapping the gifts, so keep kids entertained with cute crafty sets. Fabelab does various kits to get them in the mood for Christmas. Or make DIY stockings to encourage simple stitching. (We have some great Xmassy baking kits too.) If you're doing Christmas Eve boxes, why not DIY one for them to dip into throughout the day. We love the Aykasa crates, which are a huge fave with KIDLY customers all year round. Pick a mini or midi, pop in some boxfresh PJs, add some goodies like kitpas crayons, Petit Collage games and Play In Choc treat boxes. After the festivities are over, you can use it as versatile storage in their rooms. They're stackable and fold flat too. Bonus.

If Christmas Eve in your house looks like one big chill fest, keep things extra snuggly with new sleepwear for the little ones. Pair them with some new slippers - whatโ€™s Christmas without new slippers?! We are big fans of the Egos Copenhagen booties, theyโ€™ll be perfect all winter long - and beyond. For families doing the four gift rule - 'something they want / need / wear / read' - Christmas Eve is an ideal time to give them a great new book. For the youngest Abrams & Chronicle books are super and for older ones, we love the Little People Big Dreams series. For a bit of fun, Abrams & Chronicle's Go Get Em Tiger! will have them in stitches.

With Christmas Day often kicking off before the birds have even started chirping, you could do with a good bed time routine, but it doesn't have to be without magic. First up, don't forget the stocking. Meri Meri and Fabelab have cute, timeless designs that can be used year after year. A new little nightlight on their bedside is a nice touch too, so they can take a peak at their stocking loot when they wake up. The Jabadabado star light strikes a lovely festive note and can even pop into bed with them!
