Garden toys to help with… Balancing skills
Balancing skills are so important for both toddlers and pre-schoolers, helping to build core muscles. So get them developing while they play. This Bigjigs Ladybird Swing has a rope centred in the middle and encourages coordination in a fun way. You’ll need to buy carabiner clips separately, but once you’ve got them, it’s simple to attach this swing to a tree or existing set. Awesome.
Alternatively, these Happy Hopperz are another option. A modern take on the 1970's space hopper, these sturdy, animal shaped ride-on toys come in a range of sizes for different ages.
Garden toys for… Open ended, imaginative play
There’s a great range of creative toys that can be harnessed when they’re outdoors. This Moluk Bilibo Sensory Toy has been created to encourage kids to use their imaginations. It can be a pond for their toy ducks, bridge or a hat and it’s great for water play too.
Got more than one kid? You can’t go wrong with this Traditional Garden Games Parachute. It’ll provide hours of entertainment and can be anything they want it to be, from a tent to a giant river to a big picnic mat. It’s their choice!
Garden Toys…To get kids green fingered
It’s never too early to teach kids about nature. The best way to do that? Get them involved. This Green Toys Watering Can is a great place to start. Simple to hold thanks to an easy pour spout and cotton rope carrying handle, it also includes a rake and shovel. It’s a great set for teaching them about planting and how things grow.

Garden Toys for...Developing kids’ sharing skills
Babies and toddlers aren’t the best at sharing, we’ve been there and lived it. So help them learn these important skills while they play with some fun games that teach them about waiting their turn and collaborative play.
The Traditional Garden Toys Big Fish Little Fish game encourages kids to play together. Let them take turns to try and score the most points by catching the fish. It’s great for getting them counting and teaching them about winning and losing too.
Got a paddling pool out? This Sunnylife Ring Toss Game is another fun idea. Just blow it up, place it in the water and let them take turns in trying to throw the numbered rings onto the crab. A great game on land, it’ll teach them about patience too!
There we go, a round-up of some of the best kids' garden toys and games to help enhance balancing, imaginative and sharing skills. Roll into it...
