Comotomo Bottles. They’re a firm fave with us here at KIDLY HQ, and our customers can’t get enough of them either. We sell them in the bucket load, in all sizes and colours. However, as a relatively unknown brand we thought we’d share a few of reasons why we, and our parent testers think they’re great. Happy reading guys!

1. It’s described as ‘breastfeeding in a bottle’.

Comotomo has designed its bottles to closely mimic natural breastfeeding. It says they’re designed with a wide mound and a naturally soft shaped teat. This makes it ideal for babies who have trouble transitioning from nursing to bottle-feeding and can help with ‘nipple confusion’ and ‘bottle rejection’. Co-feeding? This bottle great for getting someone else in on the action without confusing baby too much between breast and bottle. Winning.

Arlo testing out the Comotomo Bottle

'This is the best bottle I’ve used and I've tried so many. The teat moves a lot more than other bottles we have tried, which makes it much more like breast feeding.'

2. It’s soft, soft, soft

Babies use their hands from when they’ve been chilling in the womb, bringing them close while they swallow amniotic fluid. And any breastfeeding mama will tell you all about those active baby hands during feeding time. Comotomo’s bottle base is made of a soft, silicone material, which mimics your skin. This can help babies feel soothed, calm and eventually give a better grip when they’re ready to hold their own bottle.

'Arlo took to this bottle straight away. He seemed very happy with the flow and feel of it.'

3. They’re easy to clean

Let’s be honest, cleaning those narrow neck bottles are a pain in the, er, proverbial. And who wants to deal with cleaning and disinfecting those bottle brushes? Here’s a solution. Comotomo’s super wide opening means they can be washed so that you can easily clean them by hand. Plus, they’re heat-resistant and safe in the top rack of a dishwasher, boiling water, steriliser and microwave.

'The bottle is by the far the easiest bottle I have used to clean. The wider top means you can just use a normal sponge, no need for any bottle brushes.'

4. They can combat colic

Colic isn’t nice for anyone. Especially bubbas. Comotomo has tried to ease this by incorporating two anti-colic vents on the bottle teat. This means they drink milk and not gulp air.

'This was a lovely, relaxed feed for Arlo and he hardly suffered from any wind.'

5. They’ve been made to last

These bottles have been made in two sizes, the Comotomo 5oz bottle and the Comotomo 8oz bottle. The 5oz bottles come with a slow flow teat, which mimics the natural flow of breast milk and is great for newborns up to 3 months. When they hit the 3-6 month stage and are drinking more, pull in the 8oz bottle, which comes with a medium flow teat. This teat has been designed to be faster flowing to support babies’ natural swallowing development. Then, when they get past this age, just swap up to the faster flow teats. Easy.
